Infrastructure

The company’s shop floor is designed to produce versatile products for different industries. It includes a wide array of facilities and equipments including the shot blasting chamber, the autoclave, the fabrication unit, the mixing mill, the air compressor and many more.

The design and layout of the facilities aim to provide the fastest delivery of products and services as per customer specifications.

Workshop and Facilities

Arul Rubbers Unit I (Rubber Lining Division)
This unit focuses on the following:

This is done using the shot blasting technique. After fabrication, the semi-finished products are shot blasted using fine grids of iron at high pressure to remove any kind of rust, dust or minute particles on the surface where rubber lining is to be done.

Adhesive Application

In this process, the bonding solution is applied to the surface and left to dry overnight.

Lining Application

Here rubber lining is done over the bonding solution. This process is carried out in the company’s lining bay. The bay has enough space and overhead cranes available to line vessels weighing more than 10 tons.

Vulcanization

The rubber lined equipmnt is then vulcanized in the auto clave at high temperatures. This ensures optimum hardening and bonding of the rubber over the required metal surface.

Testing

The final inspection phase ensures a safeguard against leaks.

Arul Rubbers Unit II (Fabrication Division)

This division is equipped with all the necessary machinery required for fabrication including plate bending machines, lathe machines, drilling machines, and high-capacity welding machines. A great example of our technological prowess is the radial drilling machine which has a drilling capacity of up to 55mm diameter and an arm workspace of 1500mm.

Arul Polymers (Calendering and Rubber Sheet Production)

This unit focuses on calendaring and rubber sheet production. In the calendering process, rubber is passed through a three- or four-roll calender either to produce a sheet of controlled thickness or to force the rubber into close contact with a textile or metal cord.

Calendering is frequently followed by a building process. Vulcanization is then performed in heated presses or in autoclaves.

Our workshop is well-equipped to test raw materials and thus maintain the quality of our compounds’ resistance against chemical reactions, high temperatures, and formation of a continuous vacuum, corrosion and abrasion.

The following are the various kinds of rubber sheet compounds produced in our facility :

  • Natural soft rubber
  • Natural semi ebonite
  • Natural ebonite rubber
  • Neoprene soft
  • Butyl soft
  • Hypalon soft
  • Nitrile soft
  • Nitrile ebonite

Our roll covering division works with the following types of rubber compounds:

  • Natural soft rubber
  • Natural semi ebonite
  • Natural ebonite rubber
  • Neoprene soft
  • Butyl soft
  • Hypalon soft
  • Nitrile soft
  • Nitrile ebonite

Facilities

Additional facilities that Arul Rubbers can provide include the following:

Blasting chamber
This chamber is fully lined with an abrasion resistant soft rubber.

Autoclave
This allows you to maintain a very effective bonding with metal surfaces.

Stand-by power
A mini generator provides stand-by power to meet emergency requirements.

Lining of metals
For mild steel, cast iron and aluminum.

Testing and inspection facilities
These allow for testing the homogeneity of rubber compounds. Our inspection includes spark testers and peel-off equipment to ensure high quality of our products. Our testing and inspection practices adhere to the ISI Code 4682 and BS Code 3003.

Mixing mill
The mixing mill integrates Arul Rubber compounds to calendar very smooth surfaced rubber sheets.

Boiler
We have a thermal, fully automatic steam boiler with a capacity of 600 kgs.

Air compressor
The facility is equipped with an INGERSOLL vertical type compressor with a 200 cfm capacity. The compressor can be operated by both electrical and diesel motive power and allows us to continue rubber lining operations despite power cuts.

Handling
Handling facilities include a well-built mobile Gantry with a capacity of 10 tons. The Gantry is fitted with rails for easy movement and can handle equipment of any length, but with a width of up to 5 meters.
